clubasia

clubasia has stood on the Maruyamacho slope in Shibuya since 1996, and it is one of the venues people mean when they talk about Tokyo club culture as a continuous thing rather than a trend. It works as both a club and a live house, and the programming reflects that: a hard techno night, a hip-hop party and a band bill can all land in the same week.

The building runs across multiple floors, so bigger events spread out and change character as you move between rooms. Doors are typically around 23:00, and the main nights run late.

Its near neighbours — WOMB, HARLEM and Z Maruyama — make this stretch of Maruyamacho the densest concentration of clubs in the city, which is worth knowing if you want a night with options.
