AZUMAYA

AZUMAYA (東間屋) is a DJ bar on the second floor of Spotify O-EAST, in Dogenzaka, run by the same operation as MIDNIGHT EAST downstairs. It opens Monday to Saturday and the day before a public holiday, 9pm to 4am.

It is a bar rather than a big room, and it programs like one: a different set of DJs every night of the week, usually with a flat ¥1,500 music charge and doors at 21:00 — early by Tokyo standards, and cheap enough to treat as a first stop rather than the whole night.

That makes it a useful anchor in Dogenzaka. You can start here at nine, see three or four DJs, and still be at a bigger room by the time the floor fills. Because it shares a building with O-EAST, it is also a natural after-party for whatever is on downstairs.
