UTOPIA / DYSTOPIA opened on 10 December 2025 in the basement of Maruyamacho, Shibuya — the densest few streets of clubs in Tokyo, and one of the newest additions to them.

The concept is in the name: two floors, two moods, under one roof.

• B1 — UTOPIA is the bar: deep red lighting, art on the walls, a place to arrive and talk.
• B2 — DYSTOPIA is the club floor, built around sound and light, with DJs through the night and dancers as part of the programme on some nights.

Because it is new, its booking identity is still forming — worth watching rather than assuming. What it does offer is unusual for Maruyamacho: somewhere to start the evening and somewhere to dance without changing buildings, which matters on a rainy night in a neighbourhood where most rooms are a single floor.
