heavysick ZERO
heavysick ZERO is a basement club in Nakano, and one of the longer-running independent rooms in west Tokyo. It opened in 2002 and celebrated its 24th anniversary in 2026 — in a scene where venues routinely close inside a decade, that record is the thing to know about it.
It is the third act of a longer story. Its operators, HEAVY SICK LABEL, opened CLUB HEAVY SICK in 1995, incorporated in 1998, opened ZERO in 2002, and added the Studio Revival rehearsal studios in 2012. The club is one part of a music business rather than a standalone venue, which shows in the programming: a lot of it is built around artists and crews the label works with, and long-running monthly parties rather than one-off bookings.
That gives it a different feel from the Shibuya rooms — smaller, more regulars than tourists, and a bill that rewards coming back. It sits west of the Yamanote loop, so check your route home.
