What Time Tokyo Clubs Open

Tokyo does not have one club schedule — it has three, running in parallel. The opening times below are taken from our own listings for the three weeks from 31 August 2026.

The late night

22:00 and 23:00 are the two most common opening times by a wide margin, and they behave differently from a European or American night. A 23:00 door does not mean a 23:00 room: the floor typically fills after the last trains, from about 01:00, and the headline set often lands between 02:00 and 04:00.

Most of these nights run to 05:00, which is not arbitrary — it is roughly when the trains start again.

The early party

This is the part most visitors miss. A substantial share of nights open between 16:00 and 21:00 and finish before the trains stop. They are cheaper, less crowded, and you can get home normally afterwards. If you are jet-lagged or not planning an all-nighter, these are the nights to look for.

The after-hours

A smaller set of parties open in the early morning — 04:00 to 06:00 — aimed at people continuing from somewhere else. They are announced late and run irregularly, so they show up on venue schedules with less notice than the rest.

Getting home

The practical constraint on a Tokyo night is the train, not the club. You are choosing between leaving before roughly midnight, or staying until the trains restart around 05:00. The middle is taxi territory, and it is not cheap.

Every listing shows the venue's own stated door time. Browse tonight, or read what a night costs.
