BOSON

BOSON is a music bar on the fifth floor of a building a minute's walk from Asakusabashi station, with a balcony looking down over the street. It is a bar first and a club second: craft beer, a selected drinks list and light food, with a booth that runs most nights.

The programming is deliberately broad — jazz, R&B, reggae, house and whatever the night's selector brings — and the room draws a mixed, international crowd of music people rather than a single scene. Entry is often free with a bar charge.

Asakusabashi puts it well away from the Shibuya circuit, which is part of the appeal: this is a neighbourhood room you go to for the music and the company, not for a big floor.

Note on listings: BOSON announces its nights as flyer images and on social media rather than in a published schedule, so its events don't appear in the listings on this site. Check the venue directly for what's on.
